Law of Moses vs Law of Christ (Breakdown)

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

                                         John 14:15

The verse above is one of the most quoted verses, but also one of the most misunderstood!

People often use this verse to say “SEE, we are still under the law!” in their attempt to “prove” that we are to keep the written law of Moses. 

This is a MAJOR error and one of the enemy’s most crafty deceptions ‼️ 

One of the main reasons many people misinterpret this verse is because they have yet to come to the understanding that since the priesthood had changed in Mashiach becoming the High Priest, according to the order of Melchizedek, the law was also changed! 👇🏽

“Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? 👉🏽For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a ✨ change ✨ of the law.👈🏽”

                                   Hebrews 7:11-12 

So what law was changed then? Well if we read the above the pointed out verse, it clearly tells us that through the Levitical priesthood, the people under it had received the law. There is only ONE law that the Levitical priesthood exists in and that’s the written law of Moses! 

So if the law of Moses was changed, what was it changed to you may ask. The answer is that it was changed to the law of Mashiach! What is the law of Mashiach? Every commandment that Yahusha gave 

us is considered to be the law of Mashiach.

What are the commandments that He gave us? I’ll list a few below 👇🏽 

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

                                   Matthew 5:16

“Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison.”

                                  Matthew 5:25

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,”

                                   Matthew 5:44 

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?”

                                  Matthew 6:25

“But seek first the kingdom of Alohiym and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

                                  Matthew 6:33

“Judge not, that you be not judged.”

                                  Matthew 7:1

“Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.”

                                   Matthew 7:6

“Whatever I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, preach on the housetops.”

                                  Matthew 10:27

“Yahusha said to him, “‘You shall love the Adonai your Alohiym with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

                                  Matthew 22:37-39

There are many more, I recommend going through each of the gospels and writing down EACH commandment that Yahusha gave. It is imperative that we KNOW what His commandments are, so that we can keep them.  These are the commandments that He is referring to, NOT the law of Moses! So the lawlessness that He is talking about in Matthew 7:23, are those who do not keep HIS commandments. 

The law of Moses was only given to EXPOSE to us our sin and need of a savior. It was preparing us to put our faith in Mashiach. Now that Mashiach has come, the law of Moses is no longer needed. It’s purpose has been served! Attempting to still keep the law of Moses is CONTRARY to faith in Mashiach by DEFAULT and in doing so, you are placing yourself under the curse of the law👇🏽

“Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, 👉🏽 for by the law is the ✨knowledge of sin.✨”👈🏽

                                        Romans 3:20

“But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 👉🏽Therefore the law was our ✨ tutor to bring us to Mashiach,✨ that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, ✨we are no longer under a tutor.✨👈🏽”

                                      Galatians 3:23-25

“👉🏽For as many as are of the works of the law ✨are under the curse;✨for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.” But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of Alohiym is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.” ✨Yet the law is not of faith,✨👈🏽 but “the man who does them shall live by them.”

                                     Galatians 3:10-12

It’s time to wake up from deception (Yah willing!) and come to the truth! The enemy has been preying on people’s zeal and lack of knowledge! Those who want to do the Will of the Most High and walk in obedience are the ones that the enemy is targeting to ensnare with the “we are still under the law of Moses” FALSE doctrine! If you still believe we are required to keep the law of Moses for righteousness, you ARE deceived!

Through our FAITH in Mashiach, we are made free from the law of sin and death! When walk in the Spirit (the Spirit being ONLY obtained through faith in Mashiach) we are NOT under the law ‼️ 

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Mashiach Yahusha has made me free from the law of sin and death.”

                                          Romans 8:2

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 👉🏽But if you are led by the Spirit, you are ✨not✨ under the law.”👈🏽

                                        Galatians 5:16-18

This IS the good news! We do not have a yoke of bondage over our necks anymore! We ARE free. Freedom DOESN’T mean we have a license to sin 🙅🏽‍♀️. That is another deception of the enemy. We were bought with a price!! Freedom means that the law is no longer required for us to keep FOR righteousness, which means we no longer have to WORK for salvation (the law is works of the flesh). Salvation is now obtained through our faith in Mashiach, because through our faith in Mashiach we receive the Spirit of life aka Holy Spirit aka Spirit of Truth 🙌🏽 and righteousness is now WORKED within us when we walk in the Spirit, HalleluYah 🙌🏽 

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Mashiach has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”

                                        Galatians 5:1

“👉🏽For you were ✨bought✨ at a price; 👈🏽 therefore glorify Alohiym in your body and in your spirit, which are Alohiym’s.”

                                       1 Corinthians 6:20

“For Mashiach is the ✨end✨of 👉🏽the law for righteousness 👈🏽 to everyone who believes.”

                                        Romans 10:4

“But now 👉🏽the righteousness of Alohiym ✨apart✨ from the law is revealed, 👈🏽 being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even 👉🏽the righteousness of Alohiym, ✨through faith✨ in Yahusha Ha’Mashiach, 👈🏽to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;”

                                      Romans 3:21-22

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, 👉🏽and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth,👈🏽 whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

                                       Ephesians 2:10
